Leftovers from three weeks ago

(These are usage examples of phrases from the last lesson, that didn't fit in anywhere else. Sorry they were so late.)

I hope everyone did well in their swimming meets, tests, and other activities.

I hope you are ready to get back to work after a two week break.

In another month, most students in the US will be attending their first days back at school. Many schools will have an assembly for the beginning of the school year. But the opening day assembly is for everyone, not just new students.

Very few schools have formal matriculation ceremonies, maybe just private schools and colleges. Matriculation is not really a tradition in the US.

So, I want to see how far you got with the homework. Who wants more time to work on them?
