Outline of 2nd lesson (June 21st, 2013)

Sorry this is late.

This is the way I remember the lesson for the 21st:

(1) Started with homework.

Read everyone's compositions and looked at some of the grammar.

作文の宿題を皆で見て、文法の目立つところを説明しました。

(2) P. 13, element 7: Opinions about on-line friends.

Talked a little about the three opinions in class.
教科書に載っている３つの意見をある程度話し合った。（もっと話しあってもいいですよ！ :-）

Focused on the first opinion for grammar and vocabulary.
その最初の意見の文法と単語を皆で見た。

(3) P. 13 elements 9 through 11: more about on-line friends.
オンライン友のことの続き

(3a) Worked through element 9 as a class: present vs. present progressive.


Explained some things about present plain and present continuous/progressive.
単純現在形や現在進行形についてある程度説明しました。

進行中の活動と現在の状態と言っても、英語と日本語の感覚にはずれるのがあります。

(3b) Practiced with element 10.

(4) Demonstrated the use of the DVD in the back of the book.
It's not a CD!
You should be able to use it on a personal computer or on a DVD player.
パソコンでも、 DVDプレイヤーでも再生できるはずです。
If you have problems, let me know -- here or in class.
うまく行けなかったら一言でもお願いします。ここでも、クラスでも解決策を探しましょう。

(4) P. 14, element 1: disagreements (fallings out): unit 1 audio track 8.
Audioscript on page 87.
喧嘩についてのリスニング。文字を８７ページに参考できます。

Only had time for speaker 1, father and son.
時間を見て、一人目の話しで済ました。

My computer was not loud enough, so we read it as a class.
ボクのコンピュータの接続がうまく行けなかったので、皆で読みました。

Explained grammar and vocabulary.

(5) Read through the article on the history of Adidas and Puma in class, working through the grammar and vocabulary as we went.

(6) Briefly touched on phrasal verbs and past vs. present perfect.
句が動詞になる場合や現在完了形の解釈に触れました。

(7) P. 17, element 2, phrasal verbs for childhood experiences.
Talked about the meanings in class.

(8) In-class composition exercise, childhood experiences.
子供の頃の出来事についての授業内の作文と発表

I did not assign homework.
宿題は指定しなかった。

You can try out the DVD.
DVDを見てみても良いし、
You can also try out the workbook in the back of the book.
教科書の後ろのワークブックを試みても良いし、
And you can also review or read ahead.
復習しても、予習しても構いません。

Next week we will work on material from pages 20 to 29.
来週は２０〜２９ページの内容をネタにします。
